Individual & Ease of Change
To repeat from the previous blog; embarking on a journey of conscious change one must ease into a process of change, because change itself stirs things (movement). Friction is necessary because change itself is about a “shaking up” of our life’s structure and patterns, even purpose.
So what exactly is meant by easing into one’s change, or rather an individuated purpose? Easing into change does require patience and work; however the ultimate work towards conscious change also requires self-knowledge and understanding of oneself. This is necessary and ultimately trusting in the change one is embarking on is important towards harnessing a level of self-understanding. Patience comes out of self-understanding which necessitates self-awareness and trust. (I am referring to change that is positive whether out of good or bad circumstances. The change one seeks is usually towards a healthy balance in life of body, mind and spirit.)
Trust supersedes one’s individuated purpose. The process should allow for growth and expansion in order to deal with external upheavals, be it systemic or societal. So if the need for change is a result of outer change itself, as the case in the current reality in the world today, then that should be viewed as an opportunity to fearlessly forge a path to do what is for the good of oneself and the good of others. Change without a healthy conscience means that the results may pose more of a challenge in the long term.
Without discussing the current world disruptions here, it is apparent that the political and economic atmosphere requires the individual, the family and the community to make major adjustments in order to survive. External and material changes have prompted, on the individual level, many to make both minor and even major life decisions. This reality is happening on all levels and parts of the globe today. As people try to hold on to what humanity, life and dignity they can maintain without losing land, house, and property, they struggle to make sense of the what is actually being played out on the world stage.
Whether we want to change on the individual level or not we are certainly being forced to take a closer look at our life’s choices in times of drastic and devastating situations; and, in the face of great adversity and brink of cultural collapse.
So how does an individual navigate through this global tempest? Faced with both conscious changes on the individual level and on the onslaughts of constraints and control on a world scale? How does one find balance? The only answer I have is philosophical and the truth of the matter is that whatever philosophy one adheres to it must be practical.
Therefore, the ease of change comes out of the individual understanding themselves, and in the context of self-awareness (and self-understanding); and, being equipped with the weapon of the knowledge to do so. Sounds huge? Indeed! It is huge!
In a way a revolution of the “soul” is taking place and the individual purpose does factor into the larger scheme of where humanity is going. It is a matter being independent-minded or being dependent.
