Continued Change

Time is just passing by and I cannot comprehend how spring and summer arrives as quickly as it leaves. Spring and summer is a joyous time to be in nature. So do take the time to enjoy this month and please excuse me for a late June blog start.

So far I have attempted to introduce some ideas and some minor, individual methods to take steps towards conscious change. If you took some time to read the Back to Forward (May’23) blog, then you would be familiar with some concepts I introduced, such as value-based change. Seeking change, consciously, is about exacting a directed outcome.

As you focus on your steps and outcome(s), you will become more aware of annoyances and outer disruptions and also distractions. This is natural because it is a conscious effort and as you move through the obstacles, it is necessary to exert a bit of discipline; to bring yourself back to the step(s) with continued effort. Conscious change is never simple nor is it easy that is why understanding your habits on various levels (both internal and external) is important in the steps you take. For instance, if you have ever had to go through any procedural change at your workplace, you would know that at first steps have to be followed carefully and then practiced until it becomes second to nature - so too, when you are attempting change. If the steps are not logical or does not come easy, you may have to redefine your approach, but just know that conscious change is not as simple as one would think because one has to be conscious at all steps.

The hardest part is your focus; making time and taking time to work towards the steps, and hopefully progress reaching the desired outcome will occur. It is also important to note that exacting the vision of your outcome may not always be realised but may just take and move you in a direction that you never expect. Be open to your journey and know that seeking a positive, value-based change may just open up greater opportunities to expand your horizons. The ebb and flow of this process requires patience and self-discipline, with the understanding that conscious change takes time and self-tolerance. Remember it is your conscious change for you. Others around you may not understand or even know, and that is not important. However, it is important to create a self-effort contract. You can make an agreement with yourself and it may even help to write down your own contract with yourself as a way to reinforce your efforts.

The exercise of attempting any conscious level of change should make external and imposed changes less stressful, mainly due to your conscious efforts. The times we live in have major challenges; material challenges and hardships abound and it can cause huge anxiety. The current state of the globe is under great upheaval and imposed changes on lifestyle and the cost of living has gone up. Stability of mind and remaining aware in one’s own purpose can help one to ride the waves of change and find solutions. There is always a pathway to success, and that path begins with you.
